Dr. Akhilesh K. Sista

Dr. Sista is a board-certified radiologist specializing in Interventional Radiology and is Section Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at NYU-Langone School of MedicineDr. Sista is an Associate Professor and attending Physician at Weill Cornell Medical College in Interventional Radiology, and his clinical expertise lies in the medical and endovascular treatment of venous thromboembolic disease (VTE).

He has served on several national committees and has authored and co-authored 35 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Sista serves on venous thromboembolism guidance committees for the Society of Interventional Radiology and Anticoagulation Forum. He has been a frequently invited speaker and moderator on these topics at international meetings.

Dr. Sista is a graduate of Stanford University, earning his B.S. in Chemisty. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society upon graduation.
