Dr. Brian Firth

Brian G. Firth, MD, PhD, FACC, MBA

Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Firth currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer for Thrombolex and spent the first half of his professional life in academia and the second in the business world. Dr. Firth is an extremely accomplished physician and academic. He is a board-certified cardiologist and Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. He has worked as a physician in South Africa, England, and in the US. He served on the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas, Texas, from January 1980 to May 1990. He was also a tenured full Professor of Medicine, Director of the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Clinic, at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Director of the clinical cardiology fellowship training program. He has over 80 scientific publications to his credit.

Dr. Firth has also held the positions of Executive Director, Worldwide Cardiovascular Strategic Product Planning at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Besselaar (the pioneering contract research company based in Princeton, NJ), and served as Vice President of Research and Development, Clinical Research, as well as Health Economics and Reimbursement for J&J Interventional Systems and Cordis.
